One of my favourite things about Christmas are candy canes, while they maybe a more American tradition, they’re certainly festive.
So this year I decided to experiment with some chocolate treats and combined these peppermint sticks with dark chocolate to create a festive treat for your parties this season.
With that in mind, today’s blogmas post is a festive truffle recipe.
Candy cane truffles, £1.49, 2 hours
All you need is
200g dark chocolate
200ml double cream
50g crushed candy canes
To make them just
Place 20g of the candy canes into a plastic food bag and crush with a rolling pin until it turns to dust.
Heat the cream in a saucepan until bubbles begin to form at the edges.
Roughly chop the dark chocolate into chunks, then pour over the hot cream and stir well until thoroughly mixed and the chocolate has fully melted.
Mix in the crushed candy canes then leave to cool before placing in the freezer for 2 hours then in the fridge for 20 minutes.
Place the rest of the candy canes into the food bag and crush, then place on a plate and set aside.
Using a teaspoon or ice cream scoop depending on size, roll the truffles into balls after they’ve set. Roll them in the crushed candy canes so they’re coated fully.
