Spaghetti Bolognese

£1.20     20 minutes    Serves 2

When your a student healthy and filling meals are crucial to survival (I’ve been watching a lot of the Walking Dead recently so survival is at the forefront of my mind lately). So this spaghetti dish was definite winner, I wanted to as usual put my own twist on it which is why I added some chilli flakes to spice it up.

All you need is

  • 250g mince
  • 160g spaghetti
  • 1 tin tomatoes
  • 1/2 white onion
  • 1 tps chill flakes
  • 1 tps chopped garlic
  • 1 tps mixed herbs
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 cupful Jack Daniels
  • 50g frozen vegetables

To make it just

  1. Boil a pan of water ready for the spaghetti and in a separate pan brown off the Mince meat with a little oil.
  2. Add the chopped white onion to the Mince meat and once the water is boiling add the spaghetti to it and leave to cook stirring occasionally.
  3. Once the meat is browned add the tinned tomatoes to the pan and stir to mix then add the chilli flakes, garlic, mixed herbs and tomato paste.
  4. Stir well and then add the vegetables and leave to cook.
  5. Once the pasta is done place it all in a bowl and top with grated cheese if you wish!
