It’s not just ‘a Chinese’ any more – we are getting so much more adventurous with our forays into Asian cooking. And as it’s becoming so much more cheap and easy to make great Asian dishes, it’s not a surprise. Add in a slow cooking process, and you’ve got yourself a delicious and cheap meal -plus your house will turn from a student-infested stench to the savoury odours of Asia.

All you need is

  • 3 tbs Dark Soy Sauce
  • 3 tbs Tomato Ketchup
  • 2 tbs Honey
  • 1/2 tbs Italian Herbs
  • 1/2 tbs Sesame Seeds
  • 1/2 tbs Chopped garlic
  • 1 Chicken breast

To make it just

  1. Chop up the chicken and place in a casserole dish or slow cooker.
  2. Add the ketchup, soy sauce, honey, garlic, mixed herbs and sesame seeds to the dish and mix up well.
  3. Place the dish in the oven on a very low heat for 4 hours, stirring occasionally, if you find the sauce starts to thicken a lot then add some water.
  4. To serve place on a bed of egg noodles (follow instructions on the pack) and enjoy!
